There has been lots of commentary about GSA SER and it’s effectiveness in ranking websites as well as it’s Captcha Breaker and I think that since I am sharing my thoughts on the Internet Marketing industry as a whole and ranking sites in general, I would be remiss if I did not share my thoughts on these tools. It is huge in the internet industry as to a SEO tool and there is a lot of chatter and some controversy as well.

Let’s get this out of the way… I am not a GSA genius and do not use it very often.  I do own several licenses as I use it for a few different things; one of which is as a testing tool.  Do I know the best setup for GSA SER?  Probably not but I spent enough time with it and playing around with the settings that I get it and I implement my Common Sense SEO approach when I set it up and use it as well so while I may not be the guru in the GSA world, I am comfortable saying that I have a good grasp of how to use it in a way that is beneficial and efficient.

What to do and not to do with GSA SER!

Don’t set it up and have links go directly to your web site (your money site) unless you are not planning to rank it for a long period of time.  It can have a negative effect with SEO for a site that you want to rank for a long time due to the link velocity and link types you are liable to get.  Slamming your site with five thousand links in a day or so and then doing it over and over again may get you ranked in Google but odds are it will end up falling very quickly and never rank again without a ton of work.

Do not use a small amount of keywords when you are setting up GSA for your backlinking infrastructure.  You want a large variety of keywords and you want to be

sure to tick the Partial match anchor text, Domain as anchor text, Branding anchor text, LSI anchor text, Generic anchor text, Anchor text variation and Citation boxes.  They will aid you in getting you a better backlinking profile from the links created and keep things as random and chaotic as possible.

Mix up the actual percentages so that they are not the same every time you set up a GSA campaign too or it will look like you bought a generic backlinking package that is being sold to a zillion people.  Making sure that you do not replicate the same percentages of anything as well as the same backlinks is important to remain in Google’s good graces.

That is one tiny aspect of what GSA SER can do as part of ranking your sites and I could go on and on with all the different nuances that this little tool can do and does but that would only bore you so much that you may jump through this screen and rip my face off.

Suffice it to say, this is a good tool for auxiliary linking if used properly and if not could be devastating to your site and ruin it all together.  Us it wisely, do not rush your set up, keep the process chaotic and random and don’t blast your money site directly unless you have the proper settings to do so and you should be fine… like all SEO use common sense and you should absolutely be fine.
